THE HILLS OF TAMALPAIS ARE ALIVE WITH MUSIC
Visual and Performance Art Event at O’Hanlon Center for the Arts
San Anselmo, California, February 7, 2012: Mill Valley California, February 7, 2012: “A Woman For All Seasons” is an apt name for the body of work of Elise Cheval, fiberartist-painter-singer, including wearable haute trash fashion, sculptures, wall hangings and life-sized paintings. She sounds her call, to herald in her message that the “new green is blue” and awaken her audience to the effect of plastics on our environment and human health during her Opening Reception, on February 7, 6 – 8 pm. Ms. Cheval will be accompanied by Robin Elliott, new music performer and composer with Bleffert metal instruments, formerly of the SF Opera, and Founder of the Singing Association of the School for Uncovering the Voice. Wearing her Nickles For Non-Profits Special Prize classic suit Sew-La-La from Whole Foods Market Marin, Ms. Cheval will catapult you to the 4th dimension with her glorious voice, clever rhyme-singing, storytelling and music concrete. With the juxtaposition of her crunching vinyl suit and Elliott’s new music instrumentation, Cheval transforms the toxic to the beautiful, and expresses the contrast between the man-made and natural world in the well-lit Loft Gallery at the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts in conjunction with the Red Show, from February 7 – 28 during Gallery hours, 10 am to 2 pm.
